Egon

A bit of experimenting with ink and watercolour. The figures are from an Egon Schiele book. I love me a bit of Egon.

Sketchbook to lino

I've really surprised myself at spending longer than 10 minutes on a piece of work. Depending on the detail, these can take up to 2 hours.

Sketchbook to lino

After looking through my sketchbooks I thought I would use my drawings for linocuts. This is a drawing of Slovakia from 2009. I carved the lino by following my rough pencil lines exactly as they are in my sketch, but I'm not quite sure it works with this drawing. I may give it another go and add some texture to the house walls...or something.

A monoprint with the leftover inks.

Fishy

I only had one roller and didn't bother washing the black out before I used the blue ink - it looks a bit dirty with the black poking through...

I have a linocut printing workshop coming up with Sheffield artist James Green in January but I just couldn't wait any longer. I bought all the supplies and tools and started printing at home. It's very addictive and satisfying! The mother and baby penguin is my first.

Old

I've been looking through my old sketchbooks and found these drawings which I previously discarded. The bottles of alcohol are my fave, they were drunk with a good friend many moons ago.

Welcome to the Dollhouse

Some scenes from the 90s film 'Welcome to the Dollhouse' that I couldn't help but draw. The main character had a good look.
